I ask questions. Lots of them.
How does the team work today? What are you trying to deliver? What has been the hardest part? What I do not do is walk in with a fix in my pocket.
PeterABOUT / OPERATING PROFILE
PETER OKERE / PROJECT DELIVERY EXPERT

My career as a project manager started as a civil engineering student on internships, supervising building projects, from housing to commercial buildings.
Then came Xiaomi. The job was supposed to be a brand ambassador role. I ended up managing programmes and events and growing the community. On the side I was freelancing, running marketing briefs and strategy for clients.
Then I wanted to be in tech, and that took me to Tr1pp in the UK. We were building a super app, with fintech alongside it. I started in product marketing first, then did a bit of product management, and eventually project management. That fintech exposure is what opened the door to fintech at Zone.
I joined Zone as a Project Manager in March 2023. Six months later I was Lead Project Manager, and by June 2024 I was Senior Manager, Solutions Delivery. Along the way we took ZonePay from idea to live pilot in under three months, my team’s appraisal average went from 45% to 90%, and I picked up a Zone Crusader award in 2024.
Somewhere along the way in my career, being a project manager stopped being an accident. It became my life. It felt natural to own it and say: this is what I want to do for a living. I have always excelled in roles where strategy, operations and risk management are at the forefront, and that is why project management felt like home.

How does the team work today? What are you trying to deliver? What has been the hardest part? What I do not do is walk in with a fix in my pocket.
After enough questions, the gaps become obvious. Years of this gives you the eye for it.
Why is it stuck, and where in the process? What does this team have to work with: people, budget, tools? Sometimes the answer is a better tool. Sometimes it is an AI agent. Sometimes we build something ourselves.
The team knows where they have been slipping, how they will get better, and where they are heading. That clarity is the first real win.
I am AI-native. I start with the team and the problem. I work out where the process is broken, redesign it, automate what can be automated, and deliver it as something people actually use: agents, AI workflows and automations that simplify processes and simplify people’s lives.
I have done it at both ends. At a personal scale, with agents that work as personal assistants. At a corporate scale, with agents and workflows that whole teams use every day.
